A couple of weeks ago, I had a coffee session with Shinny of The Collective Art Events at Another Cafe. I first came across them when they set up a popcorn booth and the photo corner at TEDxGadong on August 24th, 2014, but I never really saw the team behind all these.
After the thrill from attending the first ever TEDxGadong simmered down, I began looking into the people that have collaborated with TEDxGadong. I found that The Collective Art Events, or ‘collectively’ (pun intended) known as The Collective, is ‘a grassroots initiative that [aims] to promote creativity and creative arts in Brunei,’ according to their official website. That then led me to their Instagram page where I saw their latest post at the time on a pop-up dinner that they will be hosting on October 14th, 2014, which truly reminded me of the Kinfolk Dinner series and at that thought I was immediately hooked in.
So I reached out to them and Shinny, who is apparently the Brunei-based operator for The Collective while Osveanne is managing The Collective in KL, told me that they were looking for people to get on board their creative team. I honestly told them that I don’t have much to offer besides photography, table-styling and foliage and flower arrangement, but we’ll see where we’ll go from there.
For further details and to get a seat at the pop-up dinner, you can email them at thecollectiveartevents@gmail.com or message them on Facebook (thecollectiveartevents). Seats are limited so grab one while you still can!
