It wasn’t for long until I was back on my feet to travel outside of Essex again and this time, I was going to see my family. My aunt and uncle drove down to Cardiff from where they live in Edinburgh. Since my uncle was driving down to London to attend a course at the University of East London, we arranged to meet there so that I could travel with him to Cardiff and meet my aunt who stayed behind there and all the way back to Edinburgh. The journey from Colchester to London was a tad excruciating due to the on-going maintenance of services on a lot of railways. It was a good thing that I could get to the meeting point safe and sound.
We arrived in Cardiff late at night and most of the stores and cafes were closed, so we resorted to staying in for the night. The next day was warm and sunny, so we dropped by at Roath Botanic Gardens and Cardiff Bay before we finally made our way up to Edinburgh.
